If, for example, we believe that “money is the root of all evil”, we can expect to find that we have a more difficult time in making it, and even more so, in keeping it. One key with affirmations is not to rely on them to the exclusion of other things. Affirmations are not a quick fix to changing yourself or your life. You must still make good choices. You must follow your affirmations with consistent action. But, using affirmations to form good habits at least twice a day, will help to keep you focused and positive.
Negative beliefs, and bad habits can make a mess of anyone’s life. It’s well worth replacing them with new ones. By taking the time to use affirmations to improve your outlook on life, you can make significant positive changes.

I challenge you to make a list of 3-4 affirmations right now. Index cards are terrific for this. In fact, Post-it notes work well too. Be sure to write your affirmations in the present tense. I’ve read many people over the years suggest that you should always write your affirmations using “I”, rather than “You”. However, in my experience, writing each affirmation in both ways helps integrate them more quickly. By and large, our minds operate on both our internal thoughts and external things we hear.
